Ethics committee and ethics commission
THE ETHICS COMMITTEE is a body of the Faculty of Medicine that considers the ethical aspect of preclinical and clinical scientific research and the publication of scientific results. The committee has 9 members, at least one of whom is not employed at the Faculty of Medicine and at least one is not a healthcare professional. The President, Deputy President and members are appointed by the Teaching and Research Council. By the decision of the Educational and Scientific Council dated 10 October 2024, 26 September 2025. and 25. Decembry 2025. for the members of the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Medicine in Nis, for a period of four years, the following were appointed:

The work of the Ethics Committee is regulated by the Rules of Procedure adopted by the Faculty's Academic Council.
The Ethics Committee submits a report on its work to the Academic Council of the Faculty of Medicine once a year, usually at the end of the year.
The Ethics Committee adopts its own code of ethics.

ETHICS COMMISSION for the Protection of the Welfare of Experimental Animals is a body of the Faculty that determines the manner of conducting experiments on animals, in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act. The Commission has 11 members, of which at least a third of the members of the Ethics Commission are persons who are not employed at the Faculty.
The Ethics Commission for the Protection of the Welfare of Experimental Animals provides an expert opinion on the ethical and scientific justification of conducting the experiment, on the basis of which the competent ministry issues a decision on approving the experiment.
By decision of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Niš, and at the proposal of the Faculty's Academic and Scientific Council dated 30.01.2026., for the members of the Ethics Commission for the Protection of the Welfare of Experimental Animals in the following composition:

The mandate of the members of the Ethics Commission for the Protection of the Welfare of Experimental Animals lasts three years.
