EDUROAM - GLOBAL SERVICE FOR WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS

At the Medical Faculty in Nis, a new global wireless Internet access service, eduroam, has been launched. This service is available to all students, professors, lecturers and other personnel with a digital identity (username and password) assigned to the faculty, provided by the Academic Network of Serbia (AMRES) in cooperation with the Medical Faculty in Niš.

This service was created within the European TERENA initiative, and it was realized through an international GÉANT project involving European academic and research networks.

EDUROAM provides its users with secure, fast and easy access to the Internet worldwide, completely free of charge, without the need to open additional accounts. Thanks to state-of-the-art encryption standards (WPA2 / AES and WPA2 / TKIP), users are guaranteed a high level of privacy protection for their data. Using your wireless device (laptop, smartphone, PDA, etc.), you can access the Internet at the home school, as well as from any educational access points within the Academic Network of Serbia (AMRES), as well as from all access points across Europe and the world. Currently, eduroam is available in a number of scientific research and educational institutions in over 35 countries of Europe, as well as in Canada, USA, Australia, China, Japan, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Taiwan.

The application of the Rules is mandatory for all AMRES users (organizations and individuals), as well as for other users on the Internet who are transporting with the Academic Network of Serbia, and for eduroam users. Consequences of non-compliance with this policy shall be borne by the user himself.
